This final installment of my visit to Catalina Island features photos I took while wandering around Avalon, the main town. I walked from one end of the main drag to the other, and even covered some of the nearby residential area. It was a hot day, but I still managed to put many miles on my shoes. I’m looking forward to another visit so I can continue my exploration, and hopefully get into the back country and the ocean! I’d like to see the bison roaming, do a bit of kayaking and maybe even some snorkeling. An overnight stay will be a must so I’m not limited by the ship departure schedule. If you get a chance, definitely check out Catalina Island! ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)

I have always wanted to go there….is it worth the effort?
It certainly appears to be.
Another great essay! I’m particularly fond of the no smoking sign, and the taffy machine.
I had no idea there was so much to see there, it doesn’t look like much from the air. Way cool giant hamburger.
I did a fly-over in a friend’s small (very small) plane once, and was blown away seeing a huge fog bank, like a block wall! Catalina is a photographer’s delight. 🙂
I have only seen it from a big jet on the way to Hawaii.
