(16 photos in gallery) Kat took an afternoon off work last week to join me in a spontaneous visit to Oak Glen, with its clear mountain air offering some of the best medicine for any ailment! We first had lunch at a favorite spot, (Riley’s Farm) Hawk’s Head Publick House, with its Revolutionary War era atmosphere and decor. The corn chowder they serve is the best anywhere, while the grilled cheese sandwich is a great accompaniment. After thoroughly stuffing ourselves, we spent some time wandering the grounds, visiting the farm animals, admiring the flower fields and enjoying a day of perfect weather. Mid-week was remarkably uncrowded and we returned home later in the day feeling very refreshed! Note: The photos in this gallery were all taken with my iPhone; I haven’t yet started carrying my much-heavier Nikon again. Enjoy!~SueBee

That certainly looks like a recuperative sort of place.
