Taking a partial line from an annoying (aren’t they all?) commercial here in the U.S. featuring a lady who fell on the floor but was saved due to the button she wore around her neck…. The signs of a good commercial is if it sticks in your head. Jingles from products sold on TV in the 1960’s still pop in my head once in awhile.
I saw the tiny pumpkin under a rocking chair at Oak Glen’s Los Rios yesterday, and “Help Me, I Fell Down and Can’t Get Back Up” immediately came to mind. My brother and I had actually bought one of those gizmos/services for my mom, but, as with a few of her friends, when she fell down, she didn’t remember to push the button. It only went off one night in bed while she obviously bumped it in her sleep.
Happy Monday, don’t fall down! ~SueBee
Then, there were those terrible parodies, like “Help me, I’ve fallen and can’t reach my beer.” It’s not hard to picture the types that sported t-shirts with that slogan. I always liked Clara Peller’s, “Where’s the Beef?”
“Where’s the Beef?” is the gold standard of TV commercials!! Thanks for the reminder. It sure beats A-Dee Do!
