I witnessed the impact of humans on our wildlife population while visiting the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens a week or two ago. It was so sad to see. I watched a poor squirrel skitter to the end of each branch on a tree that had been recently trimmed back; each branch was freshly cut. The squirrel was clearly looking for its previous route across to the next spot. It then stopped and pondered, turned around and went to the next branch, and repeated the sad process… It eventually went down the trunk and across the ground. On a positive note, there’s no better place to be a squirrel than at the Huntington Gardens! ~SueBee
