Today I have guest pictures from my friend of many decades, Aranka, who lives in Pahrump, Nevada. The first picture was taken out her breakfast room window, the other two as she and her husband, George, drove to Las Vegas. The pictures are beautiful, but also quite a stand-out when you factor in where they were taken. Pahrump is about halfway between Las Vegas, where it easily reaches 110 in summer, and Death Valley where, just last August, it was 130 degrees, winning the honor of hottest place on earth. It’s hard to reconcile such intense heat and snow covered ground being in a single area! ~SueBee

Very surprising to me indeed.
