This photo was taken at Lake Gregory in Southern California’s San Bernardino Mountains during my spontaneous visit on Sunday. While we’ve had another heat spell down here in the valleys, the mountains offered cooler temps and some scattered spectacular fall colors. I would have rented a kayak and joined that person if not for having my Nikon, my camera bag, and no change of clothes along. I’ve never managed to stay dry yet while kayaking. The water was so calm… it was very tempting. Oh, in case you’re wondering, though, I had a fabulous time regardless and have plenty more photos to share! ~SueBee

It looks like a good spot to be on a hot day.
Beautiful! I didn’t know about Lake Gregory. Gotta give it a try. Thanks!
The drive took me just about an hour and ten minutes from Orange. It was closer than I thought! And, what a view!
